I Found A Gem on Etsy

When I first came across her “We Love Etsy” page, the first thing that I noticed was her picture. She had a flower placed behind her ear and a smile, that I am sure, has brightened many rooms. Her eyes twinkled and I remember thinking that if I had ever seen someone who’s eyes were the windows to their soul, this was it. My initial thoughts were correct. All you have to do is look at who she is and know that you have found beauty.

Marisol Apostol or Sol, as she prefers to be called, is a dynamic spirit. Her artwork shows the inspirations of her many passions. This newlywed lives in San Diego, California. As a flamenco dancer and instructor, she surrounds herself with other musicians, singers and performers. Among the many influences that she gains inspiration from, the music, art and the love for this flamenco-gypsy culture influence her creations. They are filled with vibrant colors, deep reds being one of her favorites. Her background is in photography, graphic design and art history. And in her pursuit of living an artistic lifestyle, she is always doing something. Her current endeavor is jewelry making. Her media of choice is precious metal clay (pmc), beads, metals and whatever else she can use to transform into wearable art. Her eye for detail and the love of what she is doing can be seen in every piece that she makes. And, I for one, hope that her next effort will not take her down another path any time soon.
